Mind numbing stuff! And when it's not golf, it can be football, basketball, soccer or hockey, depending on the season. You have my sympathy!mollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03797484583400519909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7301215723729061662.post-40766861773150267532009-08-27T21:15:10.862+10:002009-08-27T21:15:10.862+10:00At least The Australian includes both male and fem...At least The Australian includes both male and female. Newspapers in Australia were/are generally based in and focused on the capital cities of the states, and made fairly scant mention of events in the remaining states, so that when The Australian was founded - I think in 1964 - it took a national focus. It is now a very right wing paper with conservative commentators who concentrate on vituperation and sneering. But in its early days it was very critical of the long-serving Liberal-Country Party coalition government (1949-72).persiflagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05161607100227748374noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7301215723729061662.post-60121592191867272762009-08-26T09:03:24.819+10:002009-08-26T09:03:24.819+10:00Yes indeed.
I'm interested that your paper...Yes indeed.

I'm interested that your paper's called The Australian. Ours is The Scotsman, and our son-in-law, who's English, thinks that this is very amusing. "You'd never get a paper called The Englishman", he scoffs.

Thank you, Australia.Pam https://www.blogger.com/profile/12641269043817163165noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7301215723729061662.post-7421444260801209902009-08-25T08:28:44.413+10:002009-08-25T08:28:44.413+10:00I know! Judging by the reactions, we ought to lose more often, as a reminder that THERE'S MORE TO LIFE.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
